What is an Ombudsman?
An ombudsman is an independent advocate who helps people resolve complaints, protects their rights, and works to ensure they are treated fairly.
A Long-Term Care Ombudsman is an advocate specifically for people who live in long-term care settings, such as nursing homes and assisted living communities. They help residents address concerns about their care, quality of life, and rights, investigate complaints, and work to resolve problems with the resident's wishes as the priority.
